Greener Printing/water Concious Effort/less Wastage/industry Innovation
Special effort has been made to have my studio created designs printed digitally. Digital pigment printing is a simpler process that does not use any harsh chemicals that need to be removed by washing or steaming. Dry heat is used for curing leaving no pollution and saving water resources. Pigment digital printing for natural fabrics supports a greener future. Some styles in the collection have been hand painted using pigment dyes with minimum water wastage. A few styles have been decorated with recycled or left over waste materials in the collection.
The garments are designed, cut and sewn in Canada. We work in partnership in Ontario Canada, with local patternmakers, sewing contractors, seamstresses, trim-makers, wholesalers all the year around to create and construct each garment locally in these bi-annual collections. The expertise of skilled worker from Canada and around the world is invited to render some work that is incorporated in our pieces in each collection. This effort is made to sustain the skilled individual talent and to keep the value and respect of the hand-made element intact along with embracing the latest technology. It has always been the goal of my Studio to involve skills and knowledge of people from Canada and also from the third world.
Both Women and Men are equally employed in executing the work.
